I called my Mom last night, ostensibly to wish her a happy St. Patrick's Day, but really I just wanted to hear her voice. That same nagging voice that used to make the back of my neck clench tighter than a piano wire now sounded like a Mozart piano concerto, even as she sighed and said, "How much money do you need, Derek?"

Sun-Yi is gone. I got up this morning and found this note:

Derek and Matt,

I know how much you guys like having envelopes slipped under your door, so here ya go. Sorry there are no puzzles. There is something that I have to do, so I'm leaving for a little while. I thought if I told you guys in person, you'd try to talk me out of it. And let's face it, you both can be pretty persuasive. But my mind is made up. I'll be back soon, so don't worry about me.

Spring Break. Yippee. Should I do a keg stand first, or enter a wet t-shirt contest? For the first time in a long time, I'm really not sure what to do. And as you may have surmised lately, I've been at an uncharacteristic loss for words.

Poor Sun-Yi.

Well, if you've seen Cryptidtruth's videos and listened to Sun-Yi's audio diary, there's not really much I can add to yesterday's story. I'm just glad Sun-Yi's okay, if a bit wiped out still and in need of some TLC. And Amie's gonna need a lot of TLC. She and Matt have actually gotten a lot closer lately, both having lost a parent. I feel terrible for Amie, but I don't know if I can really understand the loss she's gone through the way Matt can.

Matt made it down to Florida okay, although I'm still anxiously waiting to hear back from him about his meeting with Nate Shiffer. I really want to know what else is in those restricted directories on M-A-R-A (unless someone out there has figured out more passwords in the mean time.) I've been looking at that damn Plum Island movie so much the past few days, it's starting to give me nightmares.
